Rolex Sea-Dweller 'Red Letters' - 2022

Rolex Sea-Dweller 'Red Letters' - 2022
First released in 1967, the Submariner-derived Sea-Dweller was always the Rolex which held the depth records. The new upsized version Sea-Dweller came out in 2017 (after the still bigger Deepsea in 2008) and became an instant hit due to its sheer wrist presence and no-nonsense functionality...all versions have had Helium escape valves on case flank at 9 o’clock. These remain serious and capable dive watches even if most these days are used more for desk-diving than any serious sub-aquatic pursuits. I’m not suggesting that many of us dive to a depth of 1.2km (!) , but the factor of security equates to serene peace of mind, which is more than can be said about depth ratings in general on many other brands.
The Ref.126600 is one of the more popular versions of Sea-Dweller due to the crisp single red line of text on the gloss black dial, harking back to the famous “single red” and “double red” models from the 60s and 70s with a line or 2 of bright (when new) text on the dial above the text at 6 o’clock.
This is a decent sized but still surprisingly wearable 43mm x 15mm.
Condition is very good with some very light marks on case flanks and some scratching on bracelet and clasp, which does however still have some protective sticker material. Bezel, bezel insert, dial and hands are immaculate.
